Alexius: Harri and Alexius in the hall
Wolf's nose lead him the rest of the way to where Alexius was, wandering the halls with a parcel of food. The napkin hid it for less sensitive noses, but he could tell it was freshly baked bread and a good portion of ham. Harri trailed not far behind.
"Come to roust me?" Alexius asked as he spotted Angharad and her constant canine companion walking toward him.
"I was speaking with Mom after breakfast and giving Crispin some time alone on the trip down to the stables." Alexius said with a tinge of regret in his voice. "He left abruptly enough." he held the napkin. "that he didn't finish his meal."
Harri nods.
"He seemed a little ... " she hesitated, searching for the right word. "Distracted ... when we saw him, didn't he, Wolf?
"Cori is with him now ... they're by the stables. Shall we go riding today? That would be fun - only I do want to be home in time to see Father. He's going tomorrow morning, you know."
Her tone was a little forlorn.
"Yes, I already figured that was the Twins' plan for today." Alexius said. He stepped forward carefully toward her and Wolf.
"I know, staying here will be difficult without him around. For as much as our parents can be a pain, they are our parents, and our world would not be the same without them. We won't let him leave without saying goodbye to you, Harri."
"Promise."
Wolf's nose perked up as the Boy brandished the napkin-wrapped food. But at Cub's tone he abruptly changed his mind, ignoring the Boy to turn to Cub. He whined his sympathy, leaning against her, his head under her hand. A soft woof to say that he would be here.
"And Wolf as well, I trust, will be here to help alleviate being away from your Dad." Alexius says, at the gentle sound from her constant companion.
A soft snort. As if he would leave Cub's side.
"Oh yes," said Harri, serenely. "But actually - for all they pretend to be indifferent toone another, I think Wolf will miss Father almost as much as I will."
She caressed his head gently.
"But I know we're going to have a perfectly splendid time!" she assured Al3xius. "Where do you think we shall ride today?"
Alexius chuckles. "I am not sure, its up to the Twins, I think, this time." he says, turning to start to walk toward the stables with her and Wolf.
"I would guess we are going to avoid Arden, at a first approximation." He grinned. "Which suggests that we are going to go riding east, with the city bearing to our right.
"Plenty of nice country out there to ride in. Out along that way if you go far enough are holdings like the Bayles.
